Sour Note — Original 6×6" Acrylic Painting of Calamansi

Calamansi is the most ordinary thing in a Filipino kitchen — squeezed over pancit, halved beside grilled fish, never really looked at twice. I painted this one small, 6×6 inches, so I could actually look at it: the rind going almost black-green in shadow, the flesh landing somewhere between orange and yellow.

The title came from the color. That soft yellow-green background hums a little against the fruit — a sour note, held.
